A clearer way to check overtime pay

Philippine overtime rules are knowable. The hard part is finding a straight explanation and seeing where the number came from.

OTCheck is an independent, free calculator for Philippine overtime, rest day, holiday, and night differential pay. It is built for rank-and-file private-sector employees, HR practitioners, and anyone who wants to check a payslip without opening a spreadsheet.

What the calculator does

You enter a basic rate, a shift, a break, and the day type, or switch to Quick OT to price a block of overtime hours on its own. The calculator applies the statutory minimum multipliers, splits overnight shifts at midnight and at the 10 p.m.–6 a.m. boundary, and shows the regular pay, overtime pay, night differential, and total. For monthly-paid employees, it separates the total value of the day from the additional amount on top of the monthly salary.

Every result includes a computation breakdown so you can check the arithmetic, not just trust the total.

What it does not do

  • It does not provide legal advice or decide a legal dispute.
  • It does not compute unworked holiday pay, absences, 13th month pay, tax, SSS, PhilHealth, or Pag-IBIG contributions.
  • It does not know your CBA, company policy, or payroll system. Those can provide higher rates or different divisors.
  • It does not maintain a live holiday calendar or regional minimum wage database. You select the day type and enter your rate, which keeps the result transparent and avoids stale data.

How the estimates are built

The rules are based on the Labor Code, particularly Articles 86, 87, 88, 93, and 94, and on the DOLE Bureau of Working Conditions’ handbook on workers’ statutory monetary benefits. The calculator uses statutory minimums; it does not assume a company pays more.

The calculation engine is covered by automated tests for ordinary days, rest days, special days, regular holidays, holiday-on-rest-day combinations, night shifts, overtime, monthly-paid presentation, and unpaid breaks. Those tests verify the engine in the repository, not a deployed configuration. The site is periodically reviewed against the official sources listed on the sources page.

Independence

OTCheck is not affiliated with the Department of Labor and Employment, the National Wages and Productivity Commission, or any employer or payroll provider. No third party influences the computation or the guides. After deployment, the hosting provider and Google Analytics operate under their own policies. See the privacy policy for how analytics is handled.

Corrections

If you believe a rate, rule, or example is wrong, email hello@otcheck.ph with the page and the official source. Corrections that affect a computation are prioritized.
